In 2008, in the 121/2008/QD-TTg decision, the Vietnam Government continued to reaffirm their determination to gradually replace bricks by unbaked construction materials and adjust the route and rate of using unbaked construction materials closed to Vietnam reality in 2010, 2015, 2020 respectively 10%, 20-25% and 30-40%. On 28 / 4, Vice Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai reaffirmed the Government's determination to maintain the rate in the 567/2010/QD-TTg decision, with the aim of targeting further enhance the proportion of light brick.

When using lightweight concrete bricks instead of terracotta bricks, each building can reduce from 7 to 10% coarse cost of crude. Not only ensuring reliability and easier constructiing than bricks, but if it can be applied nationwide, the savings for a year is up to trillions of Vietnamdong.
